I’ve maybe seen a couple of episodes of Star Trek: The Animated Series, but I never paid much attention before. I decided to try watching one with my niece and so I started with the first one. WHAT THE GAY. Alien energy takes over ship, starts zapping the shit out of Spock. Kirk buckles like a cheap belt and gives into its demands even though Spock tells him not to. That’s fine, but then Kirk gets mega zapped for a while, Spock acts all panicky and sounds  worried as fuck, then he helps Kirk into his seat with a hand lingering on his arm comfortingly and shit.

I need to watch this whole series, and possibly make a K/S moments bonus because I’ve heard some tales of this animated series and the slash must be known to all.

I noticed this little detail when I first watched City on the Edge of Forever over a year ago, and somehow I never talked about it since then. Kirk and Spock go to sit down with their meals and Spock drops two spoons on the table, right by Kirk. Kirk picks one up in a clear gesture of acknowledgment that he forgot to grab his own spoon, and they eat.

Guys, they are so space husbands, and Spock is playing the role of the mindful wife to the absent-minded husband tonight.

THEY ARE MARRIED IN SPACE. Seriously, just try watching this without thinking of Kirk and Spock dressed for a Sunday drive, the husband smugly thinking he’s an awesome driver and the wife bickering, backseat driving and trying to help out. Spock even takes Kirk’s gun and holds it for him.
