But as a general rule for anyone who follows me, in future please please don’t send the link to my blog to anyone I’m actually posting about. (This goes for other fandom things I post too, like fanart and vids.)  If they find it on their own, that’s fine! That’s cool! But, not everyone appreciates that stuff. It’s just kind of….untoward.

I totally thought that, and I think they honestly meant well and just thought that since you’re so open and nice about everything you’d be cool about it. You’re still cool, but man could things have gone wrong! I mean, what if someone links your blog to, like, Chris or Zach and you’ve been posting Pinto porn? Asking is always the way to go. :D

So if that wasn’t retconned, he would have been 14 when the Kelvin was attacked and about 35ish when he captained the Enterprise… Which doesn’t make sense. :|

It actually does make sense in TOS, because Kirk got the captaincy after Pike and Pike was around the same age in The Cage. I think Reboot writers kind of miscast Pike (not that Bruce isn’t amazing because obviously he is and I love him) and should have maybe went for someone a bit younger. I don’t think I can think of him as any less than 40.

Does anyone know how old Pike is in reboot? I keep thinking he’s in his early 40’s, but then Bruce Greenwood was 52 when he played him. Anyone have a more definitive answer?

My god, it took me a while to read this epic fic, but I am so moved by its phenomenal take on male sexuality and societal taboos in modern British culture. Notice how we are given no setting for the events of this story, yet much like the succinct and sparse writing style of Ernest Hemingway, we are able to fill in the scenery and imagine an entire fantastical world contained within the text. The use of colloquialisms in the prose gives the story verisimilitude. The breadth of emotions stirred within us as we share Sherlock’s exultation will stay in our hearts until the peal of the last church bell of judgement day. This story even dares to take risks, employing the use of a period after a shouted ‘THE END’, punctuating the end of the story as if it were indeed the last words we will ever need to read in our lifetime. I applaud you, jamjamjam, for you have created the written manifestation of beauty itself.

I can totally get that. HP and H/D were my first fandom and ship as well, and I haven’t read H/D in FOREVER. I think I do really miss it!! Still, I never liked them as much as I like my current OTPs, K/S and Snarry.

*nostalgia high five* But oh man, nothing beats K/S, not even my first OTP. It’s like the difference between puppy love and, well, t’h’la.

Specifically, my first major OTP, Harry/Draco. God I used to read so much fic. That’s the fandom in which I first learned what slash and shipping were and even if I’m not really into HP anymore, I remember the days when it was my only fandom interest. I shall post some fanart today from my old folders and maybe go read Underwater Light.

If I’m brave, maybe I’ll post a fanfic I wrote back then.

In Amok Time Spock says it is customary for Vulcans to bring friends to their wedding ceremony and even pleads with T’Pau to forbid them to fight because Kirk is his friend. Obviously, it is okay for Vulcans to have friends, as he even brings McCoy along to the wedding. However, in The Naked Time, Spock says that when he feels friendship for Kirk, he’s ashamed.

Yeah no, when he feels HOT BURNING LUST FOR HIS T’HY’LA, he feels ashamed.
