Exactly. I’ve been in that mindset, and it’s very hard to get out of and see any kind of light or reason. There’s that one true anecdote of a man who lives by a cliff where people commit suicide all the time and he always goes out there and talks to them. A lot of times it’s a split-second decision and all it takes is a warm hand on your shoulder or a reminder that you are not alone.

You’re absolutely spot on! I was actually contemplating adding that in but decided not to, so thank you for commenting because it’s 100% true and people should know it. :)

I absolutely loathe people who are like “they don’t really want to commit suicide, they’re just looking for attention.” I mean, ignoring all the wrong in assuming what someone feels and what they might do, why can’t they ask for attention?

If someone tells you they want to kill themselves, they are looking for attention, because we as humans want to know that someone will care if we’re gone. Something like 77% of people who are suicidal give signs or flat out tell someone what they want to do. Saying that someone is only looking for attention and is not really troubled is erroneous because even if that person was sad and pathetic enough to fake wanting to die for attention, something is wrong in their lives to the point that they have to use these kind of tactics to get noticed.

Either way, you can never really tell which it is, so either shut up and don’t antagonize them or just ask if they want to talk. If they don’t want to talk, just talk about anything in hopes of starting a conversation because that shows that you care they are there and it shows them that you won’t be easily pushed away.

I JUST REBLOGGED BUT FANFIC MADE IT PERFECT

Ladies and gentlemen, I present you with: The Internet.

I’ve seen this argument floating around, so I’ll address my side of it.

To me, making that argument is comparing apples and oranges. Men are accepted in society for liking two women together.  It’s not that all men are pigs, it’s simply that, from the day they were born, society has told them that they are horndogs and can objectify women all they like, because boys will be boys. Women, on the other hand, are treated as weird or strange if they like two men together, and that notion is ridiculous and deserves to be mocked.

I say, why can’t I be a little perverted? Why can’t society accept my sexual kinks just like they accept a man’s? We’re all human beings—with the obvious exception of asexuals, we all have sexual fantasies and interests. To be honest, if a straight dude were to have ‘everything better with scissoring’ as his blog’s title, my opinion of it would all depend on the blog itself. Is it like mine, where he constantly reblogs pro-gay rights posts and fangirls over how in love two females are, or is he simply reblogging porn pics and drooling over how hot they are and how he wants to join in? These are two different things, and if it’s the former, then I might just follow him.

(also, I’m sort of heterosexual? More like demisexual, as I’ve had feelings for a woman and there were literally three others that I found sexually attractive and wouldn’t mind doing things to, but I generally don’t find women attractive so it’s hard to say ‘bisexual’ in my case.)
